Wind Hollow Foundation Programs
|
Wind Hollow Foundation is a non-profit organization, with headquarters in Anadarko, Oklahoma and Frederick, Maryland. This foundation serves as the catalyst for additional programs intended to improve the quality of life for Native Americans and their tribal communities. The Wind Hollow Foundation programs are focused on the following areas:
-
Education, with emphasis on cross-cultural education and outreach programs between Native Americans and other cultures and the identification and assistance of Native American students in obtaining necessary educational opportunities.
-
Health, with emphasis on the training of tribal persons, encouraging the use of traditional and/or alternative medicine using tribal specific ways, and encouraging greater involvement of the individual and tribe in health care issues.
- Economic Development, with emphasis on identification of economic needs, training of Native persons and identification of possible partnerships between Native Americans and non-Native Groups and interests.
-
Cultural Preservation, with emphasis on ethnohistory, repatriation, and cross-cultural outreach programs.
For these programs, Wind Hollow Foundation takes a holistic viewpoint of spirit, mind, and body as its guiding force.
Wind Hollow's vision is to empower Native American tribal persons in improving their own quality of life. To this end, Wind Hollow will encourage and support efforts among tribal persons toward self-sufficiency. We are dedicated to supporting self-motivated and self-directed actions by Native Americans toward achieving self-sufficiency and ultimately, an improved quality of life for themselves and their tribal community.
